Gradual Decline Yet Determined Completion Samuel Neher finished the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon with a final time of 2:38:39 and an average pace of 12:06 min/mile. He started strong with a first mile split of 7:39 min/mile, maintaining a competitive position in his division, M35-39, at 64th place. As the race progressed, his pace gradually slowed, reaching a final split of 14:51 min/mile in mile 13. This indicated a significant decrease in pace compared to previous race performances. In last year's race, Samuel completed the Half Marathon in 1:45:42, averaging 8:04 min/mile. Compared to his prior result, this year's performance had an increase in overall time by approximately 52 minutes. While consistency throughout the early miles was commendable, splits revealed areas to focus on for endurance enhancement, particularly between miles 6 to 10. Fine-tuning strategies during these segments could potentially aid in overall performance improvements in future races. Keep training, and continue to push forwards!
