He began with paces under 8 minutes per mile for the first four miles, maintaining a distance rank within the top 100 for his division. Notably, he completed the first half of the race under 50 minutes. As the race progressed, his pace gradually increased, surpassing 9 minutes per mile from mile 8. By mile 13, the split time rose to 10:55, showcasing a consistent deceleration, resulting in a division placement of 206th. Despite finishing outside his previous year's time and place, he demonstrated resilience and commitment throughout the course.
