Consistent Pacing with a Strong Finish Shermain completed the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K with a final time of 1:46:00, averaging a pace of 17:05 min/mile over the 6.2-mile course. Her performance in the F50-54 division showed small fluctuations, with placement shifting between 58th and 65th across the splits. Notably, Shermain demonstrated her ability to pick up pace in the third mile, achieving a split pace of 15:55 min/mile, which was her fastest segment. Constructively, slight increases in consistency and pacing can bring her closer to her previous race time of 1:42:06 from 2024. Adjustments for the second mile might prevent the deceleration seen here, improving her overall elapsed time. Nonetheless, being a part of the BGR! Houston team provides her with a strong community to support her training and potentially optimize future race strategies.
