Steady Performance with Strategic Pacing Hoa Nguyen executed a consistent pacing strategy at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, ending with an elapsed time of 2:09:36. The overall pace was 9:53 min/milea commendable effort. Particularly notable were the consistent improvements in pacing through the middle splits, with splits 4 through 6 showing rising speeds (9:36, 9:32, and 9:42 min/mile). Though there was a slight slowdown around mile 8 and 9, Hoa recovered by delivering a strong final surge in the last mile with a split time of 9:38 min/mile, which resulted in moving up positions in the division ranking. As a member of Frontrunners Houston, these aspects show Hoa is on the right track with consistent race execution. Optimizing pace in the later miles could further improve the overall race performance in future events. Excellent job on maintaining a steady pace and finishing strongly.
