Consistent Pace With Slight Variation Averston Chin maintained a consistent performance throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. His pace remained steady with minor fluctuations, starting at 10:54 min/mile in the first mile and averaging 11:01 min/mile by race end. Notably, he improved his position significantly by mile 2, gaining 14 places overall. Despite a slight drop in pace during mile 4 (11:30 min/mile), it is commendable how he regained and finished with a pace back down to 11:03 min/mile over the final stretch. Averston finished the 10K with an overall time of 1:08:21, placing 19th in his division for M0-14. Being part of the Fat Bao Running Club, he showed an admirable consistency and exhibited determination throughout the race. Moving forward, focusing on maintaining even pacing without mid-race fluctuations could enhance his performance even more. Keep working on those middle-mile challenges, and success will surely follow.
