Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish Sussy Gonzalez showed remarkable consistency and improvement throughout her 10K race at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Starting with a pace of 10:47 min/mile in the first mile, she successfully increased her speed each mile thereafter, culminating in a best split pace of 10:01 min/mile during the fifth mile. Her final elapsed time was 1:03:37, an overall pace of 10:15 min/mile, notable especially given her competitive placement in her age division. Sussy finished 12th in the F50-54 division out of a competitive field, demonstrating steady progression by improving her position with each passing mile. The ability to progressively shorten her split times indicates effective pacing strategy and dedication. Specifically, moving from 16th to 12th in her division is a positive indicator of her capability.
