Consistent Pace Rewards Stellar Division Finish Jing Giardina, representing the Houston Striders, delivered an impressive performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Clocking a total time of 1:38:00 over a distance of 13.1 miles, Jing demonstrated excellent pacing with an overall pace of 7:28 min/mile. Her race strategy was commendable as she maintained steady splits throughout, with a slight increase in speed over the last few miles. Jing completed the race with notable splits, especially in the latter half where she managed to push her pace to 7:15 min/mile by mile 13. This consistency earned her the 2nd place in her age division (F45-49), out of all participants, she finished 323rd overall and 40th among female competitors. Her ability to sustain a strong pace is notable. In future races, focusing on maintaining or slightly improving the initial split could further enhance performance.
