Consistent Pace with Strong Finish Jason Homewood maintained an impressive and consistent pace throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting with a 7:54 min/mile pace for the first mile, he slightly increased his speed to a 7:41 min/mile pace at mile 3, which was his fastest split. He finished with an average pace of 7:56 min/mile, showing the ability to sustain speed over the course of 13.1 miles. Despite the natural slow down in later miles, he maintained a commendable performance. Improvement from last years performance is evident. Last year, Jason completed the half marathon in 1:51:12 with an 8:29 min/mile pace. This race, he improved to 1:43:59, reflecting a significant 7:13 minute reduction in time. He finished 539th overall out of 4,907 participants, ranking 458th among male participants and 33rd in the M45-49 division. Jason should be encouraged with these results and continue focusing on maintaining pace through the final miles to gain even better results in future races.
