Consistent Start, Gradual Slowdown Jonathan Kim participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, finishing with an elapsed time of 1:03:51 and maintaining an average pace of 10:18 min/mile. Starting strong, Jonathan clocked an impressive 8:17 min/mile during the first mile, where he was placed 130th overall and 20th in the M25-29 age division. This early momentum, however, saw a gradual decrease as the race progressed. Throughout the latter part of the race, Jonathan's pace averaged between 10-11 min/mile, with each mile showing a slight increase in split time. Notably, after the second mile, he ranked 222nd overall. By the race's conclusion, he was 565th overall and 58th in his division out of 2010 participants. Focusing on strategies to maintain his strong start over longer distances could be beneficial for future races. Well done on representing UTHealth Houston, Jonathan!
