Consistency Despite Slight Slowdown Jacob Swenson, representing UTHealth Houston (Official), completed the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon with a final time of 1:28:47, averaging a pace of 6:46 min/mile over the 13.1-mile distance. His early miles showcased a strong start, with splits consistently around 6:30 min/mile through the first six miles, peaking at a 6:27 min/mile pace between miles four and five. Notably, he improved his overall standing from 117th at the start to 88th by the sixth mile, highlighting a competitive mid-race performance. The latter half of the race saw a gradual increase in split times, culminating in a 7:31 min/mile split for the 10th mile. Jacob's overall finish saw him placing 145th overall out of 4907 participants and 35th in his age division. Compared to his previous year's performance of 1:22:13, there is a noticeable increase in completion time. For future races, consider maintaining the early pace into the later stages to approach previous race times.
