Consistent Pacing with a Few Challenges in the Latter Half Hussain maintained a steady pace throughout much of the half marathon, starting with a strong initial mile at a pace of 9:10 min/mile. Notably, his quickest mile split was at mile five with a split pace of 8:46 min/mile. Impressive consistency was showcased with most of his splits clustered around the 9:00 mark. From the overall statistics, he finished the 13.1-mile race in 2:01:18 with an average pace of 9:15 min/mile among 4,907 participants. In reviewing the latter half of the race, there was a noticeable drop in pace after mile seven, with mile 11 being particularly slower at 10:13 min/mile. Despite this slowdown, Hussain demonstrated resilience by completing the race as part of the UTHealth Houston (Official) team. To improve future performances, focusing training on maintaining speed in the latter stages may help mitigate pace variation. His persistence and performance are commendable.
