Consistent Pace Leads to Progress Kenya Jackson from Richmond, TX, delivered a solid performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Her overall time of 1:28:23 translated to an average pace of 14:15 min/mile over the 10K distance. Notably, Kenya improved her place within her age division of Female 50-54 competitors from 53rd at the first mile to 41st by the finish line. Throughout the race, Kenya demonstrated consistency in her timing. Her fastest splits were at the 3rd and 5th miles, each completed in 13:54 min/mile and 13:32 min/mile, respectively. As a result, she made a commendable advancement in her overall standing from 1435th place at the second mile to 1329th place by the end. Working on maintaining the faster pace achieved at miles 5 and 6 throughout the entire race might enhance performance in future events. Joining the UTHealth Houston team seemed to augment her motivation and performance.
