Consistent Speed, Strong Finish Ollieta Nicholas maintained a steady pace throughout the 10K race at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K event. Her splits indicate improved speed, starting at an 18:24 min/mile pace and progressively quickening to a 17:19 min/mile pace by mile 6. Despite fluctuating placements, Ollieta consistently held her position within her division, beginning at 69th place in the F50-54 division and steadily improving to finish in 66th place. The final results are encouraging. Ollieta completed the race with an overall time of 1:46:37, achieving an average pace of 17:11 min/mile. Her performance ranked her 933rd among female participants and 1561st overall out of 2010 participants. A highlight was her performance in the latter part of the race, notably during the last two miles, showcasing a commendable improvement in pacefrom a split time of 18:56 to 15:09. For future races, perhaps starting at a faster pace might yield higher placement success.
