Strong Performance with an Impressive Improvement Alyssa Brodeur delivered a commendable performance at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K in the 10K Handcycle event, completing the race in 52:31 with an average pace of 8:28 min/mile. Notably, she secured 2nd place among female participants and 3rd overall out of 31 competitors. Alyssa showed strong initial momentum, evident from a 7:17 min/mile pace in her opening mile, and maintained a position within the top three throughout the race. Alyssa's performance marks a significant improvement compared to her previous 10K race at this event in 2024, where she recorded a time of 1:24:31 with a 13:37 min/mile pace. Remarkably, her fastest split this year was 6:43 during mile three. Areas for possible enhancement include maintaining the initial pace in the later stages, as the fourth mile saw a pace drop to 11:02 min/mile. Overall, tremendous progress and a solid performance.
