Consistent Pace with Division Leadership Joel Davis displayed a strong performance in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, maintaining consistent paces across the race. Starting with a 6:27 min/mile pace, Joel improved to a 6:14 min/mile split by the second mile. He maintained consistency through miles 3 and 4 with times of 6:26 and 7:04. The final two miles demonstrated endurance with split times of 6:41 and 6:46, respectively. His overall elapsed time of 40:55 corresponded to an average pace of 6:36 min/mile. Remarkably, Joel held the first place in the M35-39 division throughout all splits, showcasing strong performance against his peers. Although his overall position slightly fluctuated, ending at 18th, his successful race strategy kept him at the top of his division. Aligning with Katy Area Running Club's standards, aiming to maintain or slightly improve the slower late-stage splits could enhance overall results.
