Consistent Effort with a Strong Finish Candice Nguyen participated in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, representing UTHealth Houston (Official). Her pacing showed a consistent pattern in the early and middle segments, with a first mile at 16:19 min/mile and a steady pace hover around 17 minutes per mile. The third mile experienced a slow down to 21:18 min/mile, possibly an area to focus on for future improvement. Notably, Candice finished the last two miles with her fastest splits, clocking 15:45 and 13:56 min/mile, respectively. Her overall time was 1:45:32 for the 6.2-mile course, maintaining an average pace of 17:01 min/mile. Despite placing in positions marked with large numbers, her ability to pick up the pace in the latter stages of the race shows great potential for future races. Working on maintaining this momentum throughout the race could further enhance her performance.
