Consistent Pace in the Second Half Leads to Improved Standing Johnett Sharpe demonstrated a steady improvement over the course of the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting with an 11:36 min/mile pace for the first mile, Johnett managed to progressively decrease her split times across the distance, finishing with a strong 10:18 min/mile for the final mile. Her overall elapsed pace averaged at 10:38 min/mile, showing a commendable effort in maintaining consistent speed throughout the race. Notably, every mile saw increases in her overall standing, culminating in a significant jump from 2998 to 2491 in the final results, successfully surpassing over 500 participants. In the Female 45-49 division, Johnett improved her position significantly, moving from 108 at the start to finish at 73. While pacing steadily in the beginning, her faster splits towards the end contributed positively to her overall performance. Focusing on keeping this momentum from start to finish could further enhance future race outcomes.
