Consistent Pacing with a Late Challenge Isaiah maintained a steady pace throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Starting strong, his initial miles averaged around 8:53 to 8:48 min/mile. Around the halfway mark, splits showed increased consistency, holding firm at an 8:44 min/mile pace from miles six to ten. His final time of 1:55:15 and a pace of 8:47 min/mile, placed him 84th in his division and 888th among male participants out of 4,907 total runners. Isaiah's strongest mile came at the seventh mile, clocking in at 8:31 min/mile. However, towards the end of the race, his splits increased to over 9:00 min/mile for the final two miles. It may be beneficial to focus on maintaining that consistent pace in future races, particularly as distances increase. Overall, his performance was commendable, with lots of promise for future improvement with just a few adjustments in the latter sections. Great job representing the Coog Runners!
