Consistent Pace Leads to Strong Finish Hongmei Lou competed in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, representing the Katy Area Running Club. She completed the 13.1-mile race with an overall elapsed time of 1:55:37, maintaining a steady average pace of 8:49 min/mile. Remarkably consistent, Hongmei's splits mostly ranged between 8:40 and 8:56 min/mile, demonstrating her ability to maintain a stable effort across the course. Her most notable mile was the seventh, completed in 8:30 min/mile, showcasing a brief surge in pace. Hongmei finished 7th in her division (F55-59), highlighting her competitive edge among peers. Comparing her result to last year, she improved by cutting down over six minutes from her previous time of 2:01:48, which was at a pace of 9:17 min/mile. Continuing to improve on her pace consistency and utilizing her strong finishing speed across other stages of the race could further boost her results in future events.
