Strong Finish with Rapid Improvement Elizabeth Rowland demonstrated impressive performance in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K, completing the 10K in 41:45 with an exceptional average pace of 6:44 min/mile. Elizabeth's strategic acceleration through the race was evident with each mile being faster than the last. Starting with a first mile pace of 7:15 min/mile, she significantly improved her pace to 6:22 min/mile by mile 5, showcasing her strength and endurance in the latter stages. Elizabeth's placement improved throughout, finishing as the 2nd female overall, with consistent placement as the 1st in her F20-24 division. Incremental improvements from placing 10th in her gender in the first mile to 2nd by the sixth highlight her effective pacing strategy. Continued focus on maintaining the latter stage momentum could further enhance her standing. Excellent work on achieving a second overall position in the women's category!
