Steady Pace Improvement with a Tough Middle Splits Ethan Fox started his race at a strong pace of 8:02 min/mile for the first mile. His pace slowed down considerably in the middle of the race, with the fifth mile marking the slowest at a split pace of 16:14 min/mile. Impressively, the last few miles showed a resurgence in pace, improving to 10:28 min/mile by mile twelve. Overall, Ethan's final time was 2:19:18 over the 13.1-mile course, achieving an average pace of 10:38 min/mile. His focus on a steady pace in the latter half is noteworthy, as he managed to recover from the mid-race challenge, finishing strong. While his overall placement was 2487th out of 4907 participants, he gained positions from miles eight to eleven. Focusing on maintaining an even pace earlier could benefit future performances.
