Consistent Pacing with Slight Deceleration Dwayne Butler from Houston maintained a commendable pace throughout the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon, completing the 13.1-mile course in 1:28:56. His average pace was 6:47 min/mile. Early miles showcased consistency, with the first mile at 6:34 min/mile and a consistent pace through mile five. Notably, he achieved his fastest split between miles 4 to 5 at a 6:33 min/mile pace. As the race progressed, Dwayne experienced gradual deceleration. From mile six onward, his pace hovered between 6:39 and 7:28 min/mile, with the steepest drop occurring in the final mile. Despite this, Dwayne moved through the ranks, outperforming peers in his division, M35-39, where his placement shifted between 17th and finally 27th. Maintaining focus on sustaining pace in the later stages might result in improved times.
