Consistent Pace Leads to Strong Finish Andrew Sanchez completed the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon Handcycle event with an impressive finish time of 54:02, maintaining an overall pace of 4:07 min/mile. Notably, Andrew secured 2nd place overall, in his gender, and his division, demonstrating competitive performance throughout the race. His performance was consistent, with only a slight deviation in split times across the course. Andrew's race opened with a strong first mile at 3:35 min/mile, sustaining a similar pace until mile 4 when his pace slipped slightly to 4:21 min/mile. While he had a minor pace drop to 4:26 min/mile around mile 6, he regained momentum, finishing 4th in overall pace on that mile. Andrew's ability to correct and maintain his overall pace ranking above competitors was evident, with a particularly strong comeback by mile 8 at 4:06 min/mile. Necessary skillful pacing and recovery maintained his position near the front.
