Strong Start with Steady Consistency Runelda Jackson demonstrated impressive pacing during the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon. Kicking off with a swift first mile at 6:19, she maintained a steady pace, holding her position in the top spots for her division. Her times remained consistent across the initial segments with a slight slowdown beginning at mile 4. Despite this, she maintained a notable performance among her division peers, ultimately placing 3rd in the F25-29 category with an overall time of 1:32:00. While Runelda's pace slightly decelerated in the second half, her determination was evident, closing out the final miles with paces between 7:14 and 7:33. Focusing on maintaining her early pace in future races could further enhance her performance. Her efforts placed her 23rd in her gender category out of nearly 5000 participants, showcasing her capabilities and potential for further achievements.
