Pacing Adjustments Lead to Steady Finish Lily Lozano completed her 10K race at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K with a total time of 1:06:04, maintaining an average pace of 10:39 min/mile. Notably, she started strong with an initial 10:18 min/mile, securing 23rd place in her division in the first mile. Despite a slower second mile at a 12:20 min/mile pace, she managed to bring her pace back down to around 10:06-10:44 min/mile for the remaining distance. Lily's finish placed her 28th in the F20-24 division, with an overall placement of 641 out of 2010 participants. From the third mile onward, her consistencies in pacing were evident as she steadily improved her position, moving from 34th to 27th within her division. For future races, continuing to refine her pacing strategy in the earlier miles could help maintain her initial competitive standings and improve her overall performance.
