Consistent Improvement Throughout the Race Leslie displayed remarkable consistency and improvement in the 10K Handcycle event at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. Leslie's overall time was 2:33:04, completing with an average pace of 24:41 min/mile. Starting the race with a split of 24:10, the pace was maintained with slight variations across different miles. Notably, the pace quickened significantly in the final two splits, with a 21:09 min/mile pace for mile five and a 23:37 min/mile for mile six. Leslie's efforts culminated in finishing 13th in the female gender category. The improvement in pace over the latter part of the race is impressive, suggesting a strong finish to the race. Maintaining this momentum throughout future events could be beneficial. Focusing on reducing the pace variability between early and late miles could lead to an even stronger performance. Consistent pacing will improve endurance in the initial stages and optimize overall timing.
