Steadily Improving Splits in 10K Performance Charlie Hardwick's performance in the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K showcased his pacing consistency and improvement throughout the race. Starting with a pace of 13:15 min/mile in the first mile, Charlie managed to progressively increase his speed, achieving his fastest split at the 3-mile mark with a pace of 12:17 min/mile. This marks a notable pace improvement over the initial mile. He completed the 10K with an overall time of 1:19:18, holding an average pace of 12:47 min/mile. Charlie's ability to gain places overall during the race is commendable, moving from 1217th initially to 1097th by mile six. This upward trend in placement is also evident in his consistent performance in the M55-59 division. Maintaining a consistent pace and focus on recovery between splits could further enhance his future race strategies. It was a well-executed race with promising consistency.
