Consistent Improvement and Strong Finish in 10K Yessica Sanchez showed notable progress at the 2025 UTHealth Houston Half Marathon & 10K. She finished the 10K with a time of 51:58, averaging an 8:22 min/mile pace. Impressively, Yessica placed 6th in her division (F30-34) out of 2010 overall participants. Her pace improved significantly from the previous year's race time of 1:02:30 (10:04 min/mile pace). Analyzing her splits reveals a commendable strategy. Yessica started at a 9:02 min/mile pace and progressively increased her speed. Her fastest split was in the last mile with a 7:55 min/mile pace. She gained ground consistently, ending the race strong. Focusing on maintaining or slightly increasing pace in the early miles next time could further enhance her performance. Great job representing the SweatBox team with a 32nd overall for gender! Keep focusing on those pacing strategies for continued improvement.
