Consistent Strong Performance with Strategic Split Execution Erin Christensen, age 15 from Layton, UT, delivered a solid performance at the 2025 Deseret News Marathon, participating in the 10K event. Maintaining a steady overall pace of 6:24 min/mile, Erin completed the race with an elapsed time of 39:43, placing 148th out of 1159 participants. Notably, her initial mile was covered in 6:31, displaying her ability to start strong. Erin's strategic split execution was evident as she improved her pace in the second and third miles, hitting 6:13 and 6:17 respectively, showcasing great stamina and pacing strategy. Although there was a slight decrease in speed during the final splits, finishing each mile just above her initial pace, her overall consistency across splits is commendable. Continuing to refine race-end pacing may yield enhanced results in future races.
