Consistent Pacing with Strategic Finish Benjamin Crane, an 18-year-old from Wilmette, IL, demonstrated impressive pacing and tactical awareness at the 2025 Deseret News Half Marathon. His overall time was 1:02:59 with a consistent average pace of 4:48 min/mile across the 13.1 miles. Remarkably, Benjamin secured the top position in 5 out of the 13 splits, underscoring his potential in key segments. The strategic sprint in the final mile, with a 4:49, showcased his ability to finish strong, even after a demanding race. Benjamin found a steady rhythm, posting his quickest mile at a 4:30 pace during mile 6. Noteworthy performances were seen during miles 1, 4, and 5, where his placement reflected aggressive surges to the front of the pack. Although challenging moments were observed in splits 8 and 11, where his pace slightly dipped, Benjamin remained competitive, finishing 3rd overall among 1,181 participants.
