Significant Improvement in Pace and Performance Anna Hirst displayed commendable progress in her 10K race at the 2025 Deseret News Marathon. At age 17, she completed the race with a time of 47:20, achieving a solid average pace of 7:38 min/mile, showing a noteworthy improvement from her previous year's pace of 9:04 min/mile. Interestingly, her performance shifted notably, despite an increase in total participants to 1159, managing a better overall placement of 299th compared to her previous results. Focusing on her splits, Anna’s performance was strong at the start, clocking 7:15 for the first mile and maintaining a solid pace until the third mile. However, a slight decline was observed in the last three miles with the final split hitting an 8:13 pace. Consistency in the early stages is commendable, but exploring strategies to maintain that initial pace could be beneficial. This consistent improvement is a promising indication of her growing capabilities.
