Consistent Pace Sets the Stage for a Strong Finish Team Carbivores from Salt Lake City delivered a noteworthy performance in the 2025 Deseret News Marathon. Maintaining a consistent pace throughout, their average pace was 7:39 min/mile with a total time of 3:20:39 over 26.2 miles. There was notable improvement from Mile 12, where pace increased from 7:39 to a remarkable 7:31 min/mile by Mile 16. The fastest split was recorded between Miles 11 and 12 with a pace of 6:05 min/mile, showcasing their stamina and capability for a strong surge. The team maintained a competitive edge by consistently placing within the top ranks. They began with an aggressive pace of 7:14 min/mile and managed to recover and adapt over the course, regaining ground towards the race's conclusion. Finishing as the top in their mixed gender category and 8th overall out of 91 participants is a commendable achievement. Future efforts might focus on improving the energy distribution in the middle segments to maintain early and late pace consistency.
