Consistent Pacing with Strong Conclusion Team "Slowly but Surely" showcased an impressive balance of pace throughout the 2025 Deseret News Marathon. They maintained a steady rhythm, starting with their first mile at a 9:24 min/mile pace. As the race progressed, their pacing displayed minor variations, with most splits hovering around 10:00-10:26 min/mile. An admirable performance is highlighted by their consistent placement as 5th in their gender category. Interestingly, during the latter part of the race, the team picked up speed in miles 22 and 24, clocking 9:14 min/mile and 9:15 min/mile respectively, demonstrating strong finishing endurance. The team completed the 26.2-mile marathon with a time of 4:33:26, averaging a 10:26 min/mile pace. Given these results, focusing on maintaining early pace during the later stages could yield even more positive outcomes in future events. Their leap from a previous 10K pace of 10:19 min/mile shows significant progress and potential.
