Steady Progress and Division Victory Mary Christensen completed the 2025 Deseret News Marathon with a total time of 2:58:07, maintaining an impressive average pace of 6:47 min/mile over the 26.2-mile course. Her strong performance secured her a first-place finish in the female 30-34 division and fourth in her gender, standing out among 510 participants overall. This was a notable improvement from her previous marathon performance in 2023, where she finished with a time of 3:16:16 and a pace of 7:29 min/mile. Mary demonstrated consistent pacing throughout the marathon, with a particularly fast start—clocking her first mile at a 6:04 min/mile pace. Although her pace varied slightly, she managed to maintain a sub-7-minute mile for the majority of the race, regaining speed towards the end.
