Consistency and Speed: A Stellar Performance Dalton Mortensen delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Deseret News Half Marathon with a time of 1:03:16, maintaining an impressive average pace of 4:49 min/mile. His consistent pacing is evident across the splits, particularly excelling in the 7th mile at 4:37 min/mile, showcasing his speed. Finishing 4th overall, he stood out in his division, clinching the top position for M19-24. Participation included 1181 runners, further highlighting his competitive performance. While Dalton's pacing remained consistent throughout, maintaining an overall pace below 5:00 min/mile, there's opportunity to slightly improve for the final push as he ascends in the field. His previous performances in the Deseret News series have shown gradual improvement, from 11th in the 2022 10K to progressively better placements.
