Consistent Pacing with Strong Mid-Race Surge Samuel Jarrett demonstrated impressive pacing during the 2025 Deseret News Marathon 10K. Starting with a split pace of 5:38 min/mile for the first mile, Samuel quickly found a faster rhythm, clocking his second mile at a remarkable 5:10 min/mile. The standout moment was his 4th mile, completed in an outstanding 4:33 min/mile, which suggests a strong energy reserve. Throughout the race, consistency was key, as shown by the average pace of 5:15 min/mile over the 6.2 miles. His final finishing time was 32:34. Notably, Samuel's strategic race approach allowed him to improve his placement within his division, where he ended up 16th out of all M15-18 competitors. The overall placement also progressed from 57th at the start to 34th by the race's conclusion. Continuing to build on this consistency and pacing control will be valuable in future races.
