Steady Momentum, Strong Pace Vinny Montoya demonstrated consistent pace throughout the 2025 Deseret News Marathon, with a notable performance improvement from the previous year. Starting with an impressive pace of 5:28 min/mile for the first two miles, Vinny maintained a sub-6:00 min/mile pace for over half the race. Particularly impressive was the transition through mile 6, where he achieved the top position in his division, marking a significant mile split time at 6:29 min/mile. Completing this marathon with a final time of 2:54:11 and a pace of 6:38 min/mile, Vinny secured the 4th position in his division, which stands as a noteworthy improvement. In comparison to last year, where he finished in 3:11:20, this represents a reduction of over 17 minutes. While the later miles showed a gradual deceleration, keeping future focus on consistent pacing could consolidate Vinny's already strong performance.
