Consistent Start with Tactical Mid-Race Adjustments Hazel Smith completed the 2025 Boulderthon 10K with a total time of 55:46, maintaining an average pace of 8:59 min/mile. Her initial mile was executed at an 8:12 min/mile pace, placing her 216th overall. Her performance demonstrated a strong start with consistent pacing adjustments throughout the race. By the end of the second mile, her pace slightly decreased to 8:45 min/mile, and by the sixth mile, she was running at a 9:33 min/mile pace. Hazel placed 34th in the F30-34 division and was among the top 140 females out of 2428 participants. Compared to her half marathon at the 2024 Boulderthon with a 10:58 min/mile pace, Hazel showed a significant improvement in her running efficiency for this shorter distance event. Continuing to build speed endurance and refining pacing strategy may further enhance her overall performance in future races.
