Consistent Early Pace, Late Race Challenges Riley Conroy demonstrated a strong start, maintaining an impressive pace for the first half of the Boulderthon Marathon. The first mile was completed in 6:57 minutes, and even improved by mile 2 with a pace of 6:39 min/mile. Throughout the mid-section of the race, Riley consistently kept the pace between 6:50 and 7:10 min/mile, which contributed to a solid placement in the tough M30-34 age division, reaching 9th place by mile 5. Despite the strong start, later miles proved more challenging, with splits gradually slowing, and mile 20 reflecting a pace of 8:35 min/mile. The latter portion had a peak split at mile 23 with 9:40 min/mile. Although the race concluded with a finish time of 3:25:21, Riley showed determination by finishing one of the more crowded divisions of the event. For future races, focusing on endurance through the later miles could help maintain the early potential shown.
