Consistent Early Splits with Late Challenges Joey Clay completed the Boulderthon Marathon with a total time of 4:06:41, maintaining a consistent pace throughout much of the race. For the majority of the first half, his splits hovered around the 9:00 min/mile mark, with his fastest split recorded at mile 19 at 8:30 min/mile. Notably, he maintained a strong position in his division (M35-39), peaking at 38th place during the 5th mile. In the latter stages, there was a slight decline in pace, notably from mile 22 onwards, with the split at mile 24 reaching 11:37 min/mile. This contributed to a final average pace of 9:24 min/mile. Despite the slowdown, Joey showed resilience, finishing in 55th place in his division. Focusing on maintaining a more consistent pace in the final miles could help improve overall race performance. Great effort throughout most of the course!
