Steady Start and Strong Finish Samuel Vanecek completed the 2025 Boulderthon 5K with an elapsed time of 1:11:20, maintaining a steady pace of 23:00 min/mile over the 3.1-mile course. Samuel, aged 5 from Superior, CO, tackled the race with splits showing an improvement in pace between the second and third miles. Starting with a 22:55 min/mile pace for the first mile, Samuel managed to pick up the pace to 21:41 min/mile in the third mile. Samuel showed resilience by maintaining his position throughout the race, concluding with placements of 51 in his division (M14 & Under) for each split. A constructive takeaway would be to explore strategies for maintaining a consistent pace throughout the first two splits, similar to the strong finish in the last mile.
