Maintained Early Pace with Opportunities for Consistent Splits Riley Dechiro showed strong pacing abilities in the initial stages of the 2025 Boulderthon 10K. Starting with a first mile split of 7:56 and improving to 7:45 in the second mile demonstrated an effective race strategy. The first half of the race saw Riley maintaining a competitive pace within the M25-29 division. Interestingly, Riley managed a commendable 19th place in his division after the first mile and held within the top 25 through mile 3. As the race progressed, fatigue seemed to set in, with Rileys pace slowing down in the latter half. Notably, the mile 4 split time was 9:33, influencing overall placement in the division. By the conclusion of the race, Riley had finished 34th in the M25-29 division and maintained an average pace of 8:38 min/mile over the entire course. Focusing on even pacing in future races may help improve overall placement and race time.
