Consistent Pacing with Strategic Surges Daniel maintained a commendable average pace throughout the Boulderthon Half Marathon, completing the race in 1:39:24 with an overall pace of 7:35 min/mile. Analyzing the splits, there were consistent efforts at maintaining a sub 7:40 pace, with significant moments of speed at miles 2 and 5, where he logged paces of 7:14 and 7:03, respectively. His fastest segment occurred during mile 5, strategically advancing him to the 13th position in his M40-44 division at that point. In the latter part of the race, there was a slight pace increment, settling into a 7:53 pace at mile 13. Despite a modest increase in times during the final miles, Daniel adeptly secured the 24th position in his division. For future races, a focus on pacing in the final stretch could enhance his placement further while leveraging surges efficiently as observed in this run.
