Consistent Mid-Race Performance with Strong Finishes Jake Barba completed the 2025 Boulderthon Half Marathon with solid pacing, finishing in 1:40:27, averaging a 7:40 min/mile pace. Notably, Jake's split times improved significantly after the first few miles. After starting with an 8:03 min/mile pace in the second mile, he managed a strong recovery with a best split pace of 7:00 min/mile at mile five. His performance stabilized with consistent average pacing near or slightly below 7:30 min/mile from miles four through ten. Although Jake experienced slightly slower splits in the final miles, his race saw strategic gains from mile four onwards, where he improved his positioning, moving from 427th place to eventually finishing 388th overall. This improvement is substantial, considering the race drew 6546 participants. Compared to previous results at the 2023 Boulderthon, Jake improved his position by 95 places, though the 2024 Boulderthon result remains his personal best. Continuing to focus on maintaining even pacing across all splits could further enhance future performances.
