Pacing Fluctuations with a Strong Finish Crystal Thornton participated in the 2025 Boulderthon Half Marathon, finishing with an overall time of 2:22:21 and an average pace of 10:52 minutes per mile. Her performance showed some interesting splits, particularly evident in mile 8 with a significant slow pace of 13:24 min/mile, but saw a recovery at mile 9 with an impressive pacing boost to 8:33 min/mile. Crystal's strongest mile relative to other competitors was the third, where she placed 147th in her division. Throughout the race, her placement varied, showing a potential area for improvement in pacing consistency. Notably, she regained positions in miles later into the race, particularly between miles 12 and 13, moving up to 179th in her division. Crystal's endurance and capability to make strategic gains in position later in the race reflect well on her training regimen. Focusing on maintaining more consistent splits could be beneficial for future races. Great job representing ZFT Run Club!
