Consistent Start, Strong Finish Ian Rappaport's performance at the 2025 Boulderthon was a display of resilience and consistent pacing. Beginning with an impressive 6:14-minute mile for the first split, he was in 61st place overall. As the race progressed, Ian's pace remained stable, averaging around 7:00 to 7:45-minutes per mile from the 5th to 9th miles. Despite the gradual increase in time, Ian maintained a strong performance, holding his ground against the large field of participants. Throughout the race, Ian managed to complete the half-marathon in 1:38:57, with an overall pace of 7:33 per mile. His initial splits were pivotal, allowing him to secure a strong position early on. Next time, aim for a more uniform pace through the entire race to avoid the late-race pace drop which could have improved his position from 338th overall. Furthermore, adjusting splits around the mid-race mark might enhance finish time and standing in future events.
