Solid Start But Late Mile Slowdown Affected Overall Pace Jeremy maintained a consistent pace throughout the early part of the race, showcasing impressive consistency in the first 5 miles with each split closely aligned around 8:55 min/mile. Notably, his split times between miles 5 and 6 showed a significant improvement down to 8:32 min/mile, ranking among the top half of participants in his gender and division at that point. These early performance metrics are very encouraging. However, the race pace began to decline past the 17-mile mark, slowing significantly with split times escalating up to 13:27 min/mile by mile 20. This transition in pace caused a slip in rankings, particularly in his division, where he moved from 49th at mile 5 to 127th by the end of the race. It would be constructive to focus on pacing strategies for the latter half of the race to maintain that initial solid performance through to the finish.
