Consistent Start, Challenging Finish for Marathon Pace Ben Kavaliauskas maintained a consistent pace throughout the first half of the marathon, showing targeted improvements. He began with a solid start, clocking his fastest mile at 8:43 during mile 5 and achieving his best elapsed pace of 8:54 min/mile at mile 12. From the outset, Ben demonstrated strong pacing strategy, evident in his smooth splits and consistent elapsed times. During the latter stages of the race, from mile 15 onwards, his pace slowed incrementally, peaking at 13:55 min/mile in mile 22. The final push saw a recovery in speed, with an impressive final mile split of 7:46. Although this late-stage recovery is commendable, focusing on sustaining momentum during the mid-race, particularly after mile 13, could be beneficial for future events. As a member of BonnieBlues, his dedication was evident with an overall time of 4:40:09, placing 42nd in the M15-19 division out of 2678 participants.
