Consistent Start with a Steady Decline Sam Evans displayed an impressive pace at the start of the 2025 Boulderthon Marathon. His pace held strong between 7:11 and 7:31 minutes per mile for the first five miles. Notably, he achieved his best split in the fifth mile with a time of 7:14, moving up to 76th place overall and 6th in his division. For the first half of the race, he consistently stayed within striking distance of the top race positions in his division. However, in the latter stages of the marathon, Sam began to experience a gradual slowdown. There was a noticeable drop in pace, with mile 20 reaching 8:38, mile 21 slowing further to 9:22, and mile 25 resulting in a split of 9:51. Despite the decline, Sam maintained determination and crossed the finish line with a total time of 3:29:57.
