Consistent Start, Challenging Finish Kevin displayed impressive consistency in the first half of the 2025 Boulderthon Marathon, maintaining a steady pace around 8:10 min/mile for the initial 10 miles. Noteworthy splits included the 5th mile at an 8:08 pace and a strong 10th mile at 7:44. During these early stages, his placement in the M25-29 division showed a favorable mid-pack performance, as he moved up significantly between 4 and 5 miles. The second half presented more challenges, with the pace declining from mile 16 onwards. The 17th and 20th miles showed the most noticeable drops, with splits of 9:49 min/mile and 10:06 min/mile respectively. Despite these hurdles, Kevin completed the marathon in 3:57:44, which calculates to a 9:04 min/mile pace overall. For future races, looking at sustaining the early pace throughout could provide more consistent rankings throughout. Strong start; keep adjusting for the finish.
